San Diego2 Cancun. Building a Raw Adventure from scratch with friends. We've done cross country adventures before, following someone else's preplanned, tested routes, but building your own itinerary on unknown routes is a whole other adventure.
This is how it begins to unfold

I am going on an Adventure to Hunt for the Oasis Springs of Arizona.
Taking off early in the morning, to beat the 111 degree heatwave. Hopefully making it to the first oasis (a mouth opening in the earth springing at a rate of 20,000 gallons per min) before the heat exhaustion sets in.
The next day I'll be riding on the edge of a 200 mile long cliff, 8000 ft up, only one step away from 111 degree temps below, and 80 degrees up top.
Once the evening temperatures come in, I'll drop down the cliff into the jagged rocky slot canyons cutaway by turquoise colored water falls for millions of years...the furthest east I've ever ridden from home.
Just me, and what I can carry in my Mosko Moto 40 L bags. Drones, GoPro and cell phone tripod.
No tubes. No air pump. Cuz I'm running Nitro mouses on my t7 and packing light🤘

I think the best ADV bike is one that you are self reliant on, and you aren't scared to go on ANY trail! if your on an adventure bike that can't leave the safety of a gravel road and requires 2+ people to pick up, that's not a real Offroad adventure bike to me, that's a Disneyland ride through the forest .

Follow RTR this October through Northern Baja.
For 5 ride day reconnaissance trip down the sand washes to the elusive Oasis Hotsprings, Rocky singletrack climbs to baja wineries, and Cliff line ledges down to the infamous pirates cove.
This is not a curated Rtr Baja Vacation.
This is a Baja Exhibition to complete missing puzzle pieces.
Some singletrack, some double, and some unkown.
Some hotels will be pre-booked, and others will be left to Chance as we don't know what town will make it to until we get there
I promise you an adventure, with endless baja miles, comradery and even more beer and tacos.
While you don't need to be the most expert rider, you do want to be battle hardened for this trip. We going into uncharted territory for RTR, these routes are regarded as being on the difficult side. We are banned together as a group to get eachother to the finish line each day, but you'll wanna be able to carry your own weight for the most part. We might come across unpassable parts, we might hit dead ends. We might ride past sunset. But I promise you, it's what makes the beer taste like liquid gold, and why this peninsula has the best tacos in the world.

At the base of these cliffs is Indian ruins dating back to 800 Ad, first thought to be the oldest ruins in the area, but after a recent flood, there's new evidence showing human colonization much older than that. A Woolly mammoth was just found with arrows and spears just down the river from here. The weapons date back to 10,000-12,000 years ago.
I love learning about our backyard just as much as I do riding it
